Young Entrepreneur’s DAY

Hello!

At the Budaful Farmers Market, Entrepreneur Spirit runs deep! While many of us bring our families to work with us, or some work alongside us, we love sparking the entrepreneurial spirit in the next generation!

On June 14th we want to invite kids and teens out who would like a chance at firing up their entrepreneurial spirit!

Join us to sell your handmade & homemade items on June 14th at the Buda City Park Pavilion.

What to expect

A Fun Real World Experience for Kids & Teens

Young entrepreneurs will run their own booths, sell products, and interact with real customers in a lively farmers’ market setting. Its hands on, exciting, and confidence building.

Kid Run booths

Each participant hosts their own booth. Products may include handmade crafts, homegrown vegetebles and herbs, baked goods, art, and more.

awards and recognition

We will celebrate participants with awards like: Best Product, Most Creative Booth, Best Customer Experience, and People’s Choice. Some winners will receive cash prizes to support their entrepreneurial journey.

for parents

Parents can assist, but kids should lead the experience. Bring small bills/change if helping with transactions. Be ready to support, encourage, and cheer them on! And don’t forget to help them with the little things that make their business viable. We will require permits for items that would need one. Research the cottage food laws if thinking about food items. Most anything else would not likely require a permit.

for visitors

Shop directly from young entrepreneurs. Support your local youth creativity! Enjoy a unique, family friendly market experience.

FAQ

Do kids need business experience?

-No not at all! Just creativity and enthusiasm. It is a great opportunity to learn with a parent or guardian what it takes to own your own business

Is there an age range?

-Yes, ages 5-18 are welcomed to apply. (must apply with parent or guardian who will be present through the duration of the event.)

Do we need to bring our own table or tent?

-While we are not requiring a tent to be used, we would recommend it. Using a tent creates your own strore front with a ceiling and walls. It is much more inviting to customers. Tents must be 10×10 only. We will not provide any set up, including tables or chairs. We ask that you pack in and pack out everything with you, including trash and recepticles.

Tips for your booth setup

Tips for a Great Farmers Market Setup
Young Entrepreneur’s Guide

A great booth doesn’t just sell products, it invites people in, tells a story, and creates a memorable experience. Here are some simple tips to help you stand out and succeed at your farmers market:

🌟 Make Your Table Eye-Catching

  • Use different heights: Add crates, boxes, or stands to create levels—this makes your display more interesting and easier to browse.

  • Keep it neat: Avoid clutter. Leave some space so each product can shine.

  • Choose a theme: Stick to a few colors or a style that matches your brand.

🛍️ Display Products Clearly

  • Front-facing items: Make sure labels and best-looking items face customers.

  • Group similar items together: This helps people quickly understand what you offer.

  • Highlight your bestsellers: Put your most popular or unique items at eye level.

🚶 Create Easy Flow for Customers

  • Leave space in front: Don’t block your table—give customers room to step up and browse.

  • Arrange for movement: If you have a larger booth, create a “U” shape or side opening so people can step in and look around.

  • Keep pathways clear: Make it easy for people to walk by without feeling crowded.

😊 Be Inviting

  • Smile and greet people: A simple “Hi!” goes a long way.

  • Stand, don’t sit (when possible): You’ll appear more approachable and ready to help.

  • Tell your story: Share what makes your product special. People love buying from passionate creators!

🪧 Use Signs & Pricing

  • Clear pricing: Make sure every item has a visible price—no one likes guessing.

  • Simple signage: A small sign with your business name and what you sell helps customers remember you.

  • Add a fun touch: A chalkboard or handwritten sign can make your booth feel personal and unique.

🎨 Add Finishing Touches

  • Tablecloths: A clean, well-fitted tablecloth instantly upgrades your look.

  • Decor: Small plants, baskets, or props can make your booth feel warm and welcoming.

  • Samples (if allowed): Letting people try your product can boost sales!

💡 Final Tip

Think of your booth like a mini store—make it easy to understand, pleasant to look at, and fun to visit. When people feel comfortable and interested, they’re much more likely to stop, shop, and support your business!

Good luck, and have fun building your brand!
